Quarter Two
Author: Cecily Von Ziegesar
The book I read this quarter for my independent reading was called Gossip Girl by Cecily Von Ziegesar. This book is about a pair of best friends that reunite after a long time. One of the friends came back from boarding school after disappearing. Her best friend was really mad at her, and when she arrives, she has to work on making friends again and dating new guys. The protagonists of the story are Serena and her best friend, Blair. The antagonists are all the mean girls who are trying to make Serena's life impossible. The setting of the story is New York City, more specifically, school and the characters' homes. The main conflict in the story is the war between Serena and Blair because they make each other's life impossible until they both fail and realize they should reunite again.
I really enjoyed this book because it was really fun to read and it is a really girly book. The writing was good because it had a good amount of dialogue and it is really descriptive. I would recommend this book only to girl because it is really girly and I know that a boy would not like this type of story. Another reason why I liked a lot this book was because it has a movie that was based on the book and it is really fun to watch after reading the book.

When her dad dies, she has to move to California with her mother and some friends so they can start a new life. The protagonist is Ezperanza and the antagonists are Tio Marco and Tio Luis. The settings are Mexico, California, the cabins, Aguascalientes´s house, etc. The main conflict is when they have to move to California and everythiug changes into worse and there are new life conditions in the characters´s lifes.
The book I read in my summer break was really interesting and I really liked it. I really likes that it was a really descriptive book and those descriptions really helped me during the story. I would recommend this book to the people who like realistic stories because this story is based on many cases of real life. This book leaves a lot of messages or morals at the end, and one of them is to keep trying to reach your dreams even if you fail a lot of times.
